Spring Party Planning!

Spring means it’s FINALLY time for those fun parties and events!
Springtime is the perfect time to incorporate fun elements and interesting pieces into your events. Luncheons, cocktail parties, and even a simple barbecue can be made more interesting with some creative serveware and beverage dispensers.

For a cocktail party, the main event will obviously be the hors d’oeuvres and the drinks. Serving some of the signature drinks in glass dispensers or dispensers that are ornate and decorative will add some subtle class and sophistication to the event. For multiple drinks, consider using dispensers in varying heights and sizes in order to create a more interesting drink station, while still choosing dispensers with the same overall look and feel to keep . For the food, use cake trays or serving trays that have multiple tiers to keep from placing the food on one flat, level surface. Using multi-height stands and trays will give the food station more dimension and make your food look more inviting.

For bright and spirited spring luncheons, use more fun and eclectic food and beverage trays and dispensers, but be sure and once more utilize varying heights to add interest and dimension. Mixing and matching different, complementing styles of serveware can help add even more fun to an already exciting spring event. If you cant find various heights of dispensers, consider placing some on cake stands to add extra variations and interest to your drink table! Drink fountains are also an interesting conversation piece that could be included during a luncheon or event in order to make a statement. Drink fountains are perfect for punch, lemonade, or other non-alcoholic beverages that you may want to include in your spring event!

Finally, for barbecues, consider more rustic and out-of-the-box beverage holder options. Large drink holders that are shaped like mason jars are sure to be a big hit, but there are so many other options as well! Consider serving canned or bottled beverages in a wheelbarrow, a metal or wooden rustic beverage tub, or a (lined) wagon! For your custom beverages, look at rustic beverage stations, bars made of palettes, tables with rustic barrels for the bases, or even vintage teacarts! These special touches can help you add so much interest to your next event!
Whether you are looking for simple drink dispensers, rustic teacarts and beverage stations, or an exciting beverage fountain, Action Rentals has all the beverage and food station equipment you’ll need for your spring party!

Outdoor Wedding? We’ve Got You Covered!

Tents are often seen as a last minute necessity to protect weddings from the elements, but they can be so much more! In addition to providing needed protection from the heat and the rain, tents can also provide a more elegant feeling during your big day. Tents can be decorated with lights and fabric to create a soft feeling during a reception, or with flowers and foliage to create an earthier, natural feel during a ceremony or rehearsal dinner. Encompassing candelabras or chandeliers into your tent design can also give your special day an additional feeling of romance, making it more inviting and relaxing for you and your guests.

When deciding what tents to rent for a wedding or reception, there are a lot of factors to consider. When looking at tent options, take into consideration how you will want to decorate, the height you’ll need, how many people you’ll be entertaining, and the quantity you’ll need. All of these factors will affect what kind of tents you will need and what size and shape you will want.

For all your tent needs, turn to Action Rentals, home of The Tent King! Action Rentals provides the best quality and selection of tents for your big event!

How to Have a Unique Summer Wedding

shutterstock_332617718-1

Everyone wants their guests to have a unique experience at their wedding, but summer weddings all seem to feel the same. They all have similar color palettes, venues, and similar décor. There are a few ways, however, to make sure your summer wedding stands out from the rest.

One way to insure your wedding stands out from the rest is to use a more “wintery” color palette. Pale pinks, light blues, silvers, and rich reds are all traditionally winter wedding colors, but using them in the summer can make your event more memorable.

Another great idea to make your summer wedding unique is to have it at a stylish indoor venue. Not only will an indoor venue set you apart from all the other summer weddings, which will probably be outside, but it may also insure your guests are more comfortable during the ceremony. Most guests don’t consider a hot, muggy wedding a good time, so an indoor venue will probably be nice change of pace for them. A stylish museum wedding, or sophisticated library ceremony could be the perfect way to make you and your guests happy!

Finally, and probably most importantly, have a creative food or drink lined up! If you are going to have your wedding outside, an ice cream bar at the reception is the perfect example of a creative wedding dessert! An ice cream bar will be different and more exciting than any wedding your guests will attend this season. A signature summery cocktail will also add a nice flair to a reception or cocktail hour. A refreshing mojito with fruit, or a lavender lemonade cocktail will provide originality and refreshment at your big event!

When picking out the colors, linens, serveware and dishware you’ll need to make your day unique, remember to check out Action Rentals! We have the best selection of wedding essentials in a wide range of colors, styles, and designs to fit your needs!

Picking the Right Music for Your Next Event

speakers

Upcoming wedding or special event? You’ll need music!

Music can make any event more fun, but deciding what kind of music can be challenging.  Some people choose to use live music or a band, and some choose to have a DJ, but providing your own music can be an even better option!

Often, people don’t consider providing their own music at events because they think it would be too much of a hassle, but providing your own music can have some pretty impressive benefits.

When planning your special event, choosing your own music allows you more input into what’s being played, takes the stress out of finding an available DJ or band, and is more cost-efficient!

Renting the needed equipment to provide your own music is easy and hassle-free with Action Rentals. At Action you can rent wireless mic systems, sound systems and speakers, and even a laptop to play your music from! Action has all the audiovisual tools you’ll need to provide your own event music and entertainment!

Don’t forget the tables!

When planning your wedding, it is sometimes easy to overlook minor details such as the guest book table or favor table. When you think of tables at your wedding, odds are you think of the tables in which your guests will sit or the tables where your food will be served. Don’t forget to consider renting a few more tables to add to the feel of your reception. Here are some helpful ideas!

Guest Book Table

Whether you have the traditional guest book or a unique way to remember your guests, you’ll more than likely need a place to put it. It’s easy to think you can just set it up anywhere, but consider allocating a special spot and adding a floral arrangement or even candles to make the guest book table feel a part of your special reception.

Favor Table

Because the favors of your wedding will most likely take up the majority of this table, not many decorations are needed. Add a pretty linen tablecloth and a chalkboard or sign instructing the guests to take a favor home.

Cocktail Tables

During cocktail hour at your reception, more than likely guests won’t be ready to sit down so have a few raised “bar-like” tables for your guests to stand around and chat to enjoy their beverage. Add some candles and smaller floral arrangements.

Gift Table

It is sometimes easy to forget you do receive gifts at the wedding from those friends or relatives that do not make it to wedding showers before the big day. Add a pretty basket or box to collect loose cards and also an area for gifts to be placed on the table. Consider adding a framed sign of you and your hubby as a nice added touch.

Planning a Memorial Day Party!

The weather is warming, spring is coming! If you are like many and are thinking about having a Memorial Day get-together, now is the time to start planning! Here are some handy tips to make your event not only fun but hassle free!

MemorialDay

Budget – Create a budget that you can work within and that allows some wiggle room for any unexpected expenses.

Theme – Choosing a theme is sometimes the hardest part of planning! Pick a theme that fits you and your style.

Guests – Create a guest list and make sure to get the invites out in plenty of time for guests to get your event on their calendars!

Food – Determine your menu (if you are cooking, make as much as you can ahead of time to minimize cooking on the party day! Make a timeline for cooking, freezing, thawing, reheating etc.) If it is a potluck, assign the dishes. Consider any extras you might need and make sure you have the serving dishes that you will need as well.

Timeline – Create a timeline of events / tasks that you need to accomplish for the party! Plan realistically, and don’t overload yourself right before the party, try and spread as many of the tasks as possible out over time. Also, make sure to include any tasks that you need others to do on this list as well.

Ice and coolers – With warmer weather, make sure you have enough ice and coolers on hand for your event.

Music – Use music to help set the atmosphere to match your theme! Playlists can be created well ahead of time, and all you have to do on the party day is turn on the music!

Relax and have fun – This is the piece of advice we give people most often. You’ve done your planning, now, relax and enjoy time spent with friends and family.
